Pointe Work
Safe, structured, and beautiful — the pinnacle of classical ballet technique.
About the Program
The Art of Pointe
Pointe work is among the most iconic elements of classical ballet — and among the most demanding on the body. At the Wiener Ballettakademie, we approach pointe training with the utmost care for safety, strength, and artistry.
Students are assessed individually before being approved for pointe work. Readiness is determined by strength, alignment, and technical foundation — never by age alone.
- Pre-pointe conditioning integrated from Grade 2
- Individual readiness assessment by faculty
- Proper fitting guidance for pointe shoes
- Progressive introduction to pointe repertoire
- Injury prevention as a core priority
Safety First
Our faculty follow rigorous protocols to ensure students are physically ready before beginning pointe work, preventing injury at every stage.
Duration
Pointe classes are 60–90 minutes and are conducted in small groups to allow close individual supervision.
Class Size
Maximum 8 students per pointe class, ensuring every student receives personalised attention and correction.
