Clear, honest prices for renting a dance studio in Vienna — hourly rates, half-day and full-day options, group surcharges and real calculation examples so you can plan your budget.

"How much does it cost?" is the first question every teacher, choreographer and dance group asks. Here is a transparent breakdown of studio rental prices in Vienna for 2026 — with real examples.

Hourly Rates

At the Wiener Ballettakademie you pay a flat hourly rate per studio — the same price at every hour of the day, weekdays and weekends:

  • Studio 5 (55 m²): €20 per hour
  • Studios 2 and 3 (90 m²): €25 per hour
  • Studios 1 and 4 (100 m²): €30 per hour

There is no minimum booking — you can rent a studio for a single hour.

How Group Size Affects the Price

Every hourly rate already includes up to 10 participants. For larger groups, each additional person costs €5 per hour. This keeps small classes affordable while being fair for big workshops.

Real Examples

  • Private lesson, 1 hour, 2 people, Studio 5: 1 × €20 = €20
  • Pilates class, 1.5 hours rounded to 2 hours, 8 people, Studio 2: 2 × €25 = €50
  • Company rehearsal, 2 hours, 12 dancers, Studio 1: 2 × €30 = €60 + 2 extra people × €5 × 2 hours = €20 → €80
  • Workshop, 4 hours, 10 people, Studio 4: 4 × €30 = €120

Half-Day, Full-Day and Weekly Bookings

Half-day bookings (4 consecutive hours) start from €80, full days (8 hours) from €160. For company residencies, intensives or regular weekly classes, we put together custom packages — just ask.

Save 10% With a Filming Agreement

When booking online you can opt into our promotional filming agreement: you allow our team to film or photograph your session for the academy's promotion, and you receive a 10% discount on your rental.

What's Included

Sprung floor, full-wall mirrors, barres, sound system, climate control, changing rooms and on-site support. No hidden cleaning fees — we only ask you to leave the studio as you found it.

Paying and Securing Your Slot

You pay online by card when you book. A studio is only reserved once the payment is completed — unpaid requests don't block the time slot. After payment you immediately receive your confirmation and invoice.

Check prices for your exact hours in the booking calendar — the total is calculated automatically as you select your slots.

Finding the Right Studio for Your Needs

With five distinct rooms to choose from, knowing which one suits your specific project is the key to a productive rehearsal. Our largest spaces, Studio 1 and Studio 4, both offer 100 m² of movement area. These are our go-to choices for contemporary dance groups, casting calls, or intensive workshops where you need maximum horizontal space for complex choreography.

If you are planning a more intimate rehearsal, a yoga session, or one-on-one coaching, Studio 5 at 55 m² is perfectly proportioned to keep costs low while providing a professional, focused atmosphere. For mid-sized groups of 10 to 15 dancers, Studios 2 and 3 provide 90 m² of space, striking a perfect balance between comfort and budget.

Logistics and Getting to Längenfeldgasse 27

We are conveniently situated in the 12th district at Längenfeldgasse 27, making us easily accessible for dancers coming from across Vienna. We are located just a five-minute walk from the Längenfeldgasse hub, where the U4 and U6 lines meet. This makes it incredibly simple for your students or company members to reach us, whether they are commuting from the city center or from the outskirts.

If you prefer arriving by street-level transport, we are also served by the 62 tram and the Badner Bahn (WLB). Because we are so close to these major public transit arteries, you spend less time commuting and more time dancing. When you arrive, please ensure you allow yourself an extra five minutes to check into the academy and find your assigned studio.

Maximizing Your Time: Opening Hours and Preparation

We believe in full accessibility for the dance community, which is why our studios are open from 07:00 to 22:00, seven days a week. Whether you are an early bird looking for a quiet morning practice or a company needing late-night rehearsals, our booking system reflects real-time availability across these fifteen hours of daily operation.

To make the most of your session, we recommend arriving ten minutes early. Each room is equipped with a sound system, mirrors, and barres that are ready for immediate use. Since our studios are in constant use by the academy’s own students throughout the day, everything is maintained to a professional standard, but we do ask that you arrive ready to move so you can dive straight into your rehearsal or class as soon as your hour begins.

Professional Conduct and Studio Etiquette

As we are an active ballet academy, we share our space with students and faculty who value a disciplined and respectful environment. To keep our studios in excellent condition, we ask that all renters handle the equipment with care—especially the portable barres and sound consoles. If you move any furniture or equipment during your session, please return it to its original position before the end of your booking.

We provide access to dedicated changing rooms, so we kindly request that you do not use the studios themselves for changing clothes or storing heavy street gear. By keeping the studio floor clear of bags and personal items, you ensure a safe and organized space for your entire group, which is particularly important when you have a larger group approaching our 10-person threshold.

Common Planning Mistakes to Avoid

The most common error we see is underestimating the time required for group warm-ups or technical setup. If you are renting a studio for a workshop, remember that your booking includes the time needed to set up and break down your equipment. If your workshop ends at 16:00, ensure your belongings are packed and the studio is vacated by that exact time to avoid overlapping with the next group.

Another point to consider is group size. Because our pricing model is transparent and scales with extra participants, always aim to have an accurate headcount before you book. If you realize your group has grown, don't wait until the last minute—adjusting your booking or ensuring you have prepared for the extra person surcharge helps us keep the registration process smooth and prevents any confusion during check-in.

Why Our Simple Booking Model Works

By removing complex contracts and long-term commitments, we give you the freedom to scale your rehearsals based on your immediate needs. Since we do not impose surcharges for evenings, weekends, or public holidays, you can plan your schedule around your actual project requirements rather than trying to avoid "peak pricing" times that would otherwise inflate your costs.

The flexibility of choosing between a single hour, a half-day, or a full-day block is designed to support everyone from freelancers to established dance companies. When you use our live calendar, you have complete control over your budget and timing. Once you see the room and time you want, the instant payment system ensures that your spot is locked in, giving you peace of mind that your space is ready for you the moment you arrive.

The space is large enough that we can run two groups side by side without bumping into each other.

We split the cost across eight dancers and it still came out cheaper than our old place.
