Looking for a dance studio to rent in Vienna? Everything you need to know in 2026 — studio sizes, floors, prices, opening hours, location and how to book a professional rehearsal space by the hour.

Whether you teach a weekly class, rehearse with a company or just need a mirror and a good floor for two hours, finding the right dance studio in Vienna can take longer than the rehearsal itself. This guide covers everything you need to know about renting a professional studio in 2026.

What Makes a Good Dance Studio?

Not every room with a mirror is a dance studio. Before you book, check four things:

  • The floor. A sprung floor absorbs impact and protects knees, ankles and backs — essential for jumps, pointe work and long rehearsals. A Harlequin-type dance surface gives the right amount of grip for turns.
  • Mirrors. Full-wall mirrors let you correct alignment and spacing for a whole group.
  • Size and ceiling height. Count roughly 4–5 m² per dancer for moving work.
  • Sound and climate. A reliable sound system and heating/cooling matter more than people think, especially in Vienna's summers and winters.

Our Five Studios at a Glance

The Wiener Ballettakademie rents out five professional studios in Vienna's 12th district (Meidling):

  • Studio 1 – 100 m², up to 25 dancers, sprung Harlequin floor, fixed and portable barres — €30/hour
  • Studio 2 – 90 m², up to 20 dancers, ideal for Pilates, yoga and small groups — €25/hour
  • Studio 3 – 90 m², up to 20 dancers, perfect for parallel rehearsals and coaching — €25/hour
  • Studio 4 – 100 m², up to 25 dancers, made for workshops and large classes — €30/hour
  • Studio 5 – 55 m², up to 12 dancers, quiet and private — €20/hour

All studios have full-wall mirrors, a sound system and climate control. The hourly rate includes up to 10 participants; each additional person costs €5 per hour.

Opening Hours and Location

Studios can be booked seven days a week from 07:00 to 22:00, including weekends. The address is Längenfeldgasse 27, 1120 Wien, about five minutes on foot from the U6 station Längenfeldgasse, with bus and tram connections nearby — easy for students coming from anywhere in the city.

Understanding Our Pricing Structure and Discounts

We believe in transparency when it comes to costs. Our rates are consistent across the board, meaning you pay the exact same price whether you are booking a weekday morning or a Saturday evening. There are no hidden surcharges for holidays, weekends, or late-night sessions, allowing you to plan your project budget with total confidence.

If you are planning an intensive workshop or a full day of rehearsals, you can book our studios for half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) blocks. Furthermore, we offer a special 10% discount on your rental if you are willing to allow our team to film or photograph your session for our own promotional use. If this interests you, please contact our office before finalizing your booking so we can arrange the details.

What is Included in Your Rental?

Every one of our five studios is equipped with the essentials you need for a professional rehearsal. Each space features full-wall mirrors to help you perfect your choreography and observe lines clearly. You will also find fixed and portable ballet barres available in every room, which are perfect for warming up or conducting dedicated technique sessions.

Beyond the basics, each studio is outfitted with a high-quality sound system and integrated climate control to ensure you stay comfortable regardless of the season. Renters also have full access to our changing rooms, so you and your group can arrive early to prepare and stay focused on your work from the moment you step through our doors.

How to Choose the Right Space for Your Needs

With over 550 m² of total space divided into five distinct rooms, selecting the right studio comes down to your group size and the nature of your activity. Our largest spaces, Studio 1 and Studio 4, are both 100 m² and are designed to accommodate up to 25 dancers comfortably. These are the top choices for large rehearsals, intensive workshops, or group classes that require plenty of lateral space for movement.

If you are working with a smaller group, Studios 2 and 3 offer 90 m² each, providing ample room for up to 20 dancers. For private coaching, individual practice, or small-group sessions, our 55 m² Studio 5 is the most efficient choice. We recommend choosing the size that best fits your headcount to ensure you are not paying for more space than you actually need, though you are always welcome to upgrade to a larger room if you desire more elbow room for your project.

Transport and Arrival Logistics

Our location at Längenfeldgasse 27 in the 12th district is highly accessible, making it a convenient hub for artists coming from all corners of Vienna. You can reach us easily by public transport; we are located just a five-minute walk from the Längenfeldgasse station, which serves both the U6 and U4 subway lines. Additionally, we are served by the tram 62 and the Badner Bahn (WLB), offering multiple ways to reach our front door.

Because our studios are also used by the academy's own students and faculty throughout the day, we kindly ask that you arrive promptly for your booking. Please factor in a few minutes to check in and prepare your space so that you can make the most of your scheduled time. Since our calendar is often busy, being ready to start your session right at your start time ensures a smooth transition between groups.

Maximizing Your Rental Experience

To avoid common pitfalls, always ensure your booking reflects the correct number of participants. Our standard hourly rates cover up to 10 people; for larger groups, there is a small additional fee of €5 per person per hour. Keeping this updated ensures that our staff can prepare the studio properly and that there is enough room for everyone to work safely and effectively.

Finally, remember that the digital calendar is our source of truth. Because we serve a high volume of dance and fitness professionals, our studios are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Your reservation is only confirmed once the secure payment via our online system is completed. If you leave a request unpaid, the time slot remains open to others, so we highly recommend finishing the checkout process immediately to lock in your preferred space.
